MARCO BELINELLI

After proving his mettle in the Italian Championship, he scored 25 points against the United States during the World Championship in Japan. He thus became one of the European players most followed by NBA managers.

He was selected with the 18th overall pick of the Draft by the Golden State Warriors franchise. In his long career overseas, Belinelli has worn 9 jerseys, including those of New Orleans playing alongside Chris Paul, Chicago, Michael Jordan’s Charlotte and, of course, Coach Popovich’s Spurs.

His most important season in the USA. In fact, he became the first and only Italian player to win the NBA championship with San Antonio and the three-point shot competition in the All Star Contest.

After 13 years in the States he returned to Italy, to Virtus Bologna, a team of which he was made captain. With his games, he helped bring a championship win back to the city of Bologna, which had been missing since 2001. In the following years, the "Vu nere" were to win two Italian Super Cups and a EuroCup.
