He joined the team of commentators on the newly launched Pay TV channel Tele+, marking the start of a career that would see him specialise in football commentary.

As Sky TV grew in Italy, he became one of the channel’s most prominent figures. His coverage of Serie A and international competitions helped to define a new style of football commentary, that was more engaging and narrative-driven.

Alongside Giuseppe Bergomi, he provided commentary for Sky Sport on the Italian national team’s journey at the World Cup in Germany, which culminated in victory over France in the final. His commentary became widely known among fans and helped to raise his profile among the general public.

After a career spanning more than thirty years, he has now become a household name on the Italian media scene. As well as providing match commentary and presenting sports programmes, he produces podcasts, is active on social media and involved in numerous editorial projects, cementing his status as one of Italy’s most influential sports commentators.
