VOLLEYBALL COACH
Former field hockey player and former selector of the FIPAV female representative of Trentino, Alessandra began the Paralympic discipline of volleyball for the deaf by coaching the Serie A men’s team from the “Lodovico Pavoni” sporting association of Brescia.
In addition to her role with Verona’s youth team, she also coached the Italian National Deaf Volleyball team, accomplishing one achievement after another: the Senior Olympic silver medal in the 2017 Deaflympics, the European gold medal in 2019, and 2nd place at the 2020 World Championships.
Campedelli accepted the challenge of coaching the Iranian women’s volleyball team which, the following year, she led to victory with the silver medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya.
Having taken the Iranian athletes to the podium, a feat that hadn’t been accomplished in the country since 1966, she left the Azadi Olympic Centre, against the Federation’s support for the government after the protests for the death of Mahsa Amini.
