1987

Marco made his debut in the Serie A1 among the ranks of Maxicono Parma, soon after becoming its captain. He went on to wear the jerseys of the Daytona Modena, Rome Volley and Lube Macerata: a brilliant career in which he won, amongst others, 6 league titles and 4 Champions League competitions.

1996

With Velasco’s “Generation of phenomena”, he won an Olympic silver at the Atlanta Games, but his successes in the national team also counted 3 world golds, 4 continental golds, a World Cup, 5 World League and a bronze at the Olympics Sydney 2000.

2006

After being appointed assistant coach to the Italian women’s national team alongside Barbolini, he led the team to a series of record-breaking victories including their first European championship.

2021

After several seasons with the San Casciano and the Savino del Bene Volley, Marco returns to women’s A2 league on the sidelines of the Sigel Marsala which went on to confirm its place in A2.
