1985

He joined Parma where he was one of the stars in a legendary period for the Emilia-Romagna team. This period culminated with the ‘Grand Slam’ in the 1990 season in which ‘Zorro’, as he was nicknamed, and the team coached by Gian Paolo Montali won the Club World Championship, the CEV Cup, European Super Cup, Coppa Italia and league title.

1994

He moved to Treviso where he again met up with his former coach, Montali. He went on to win the Champions League, European Super Cup and his second league title in two seasons with the Veneto-based team.

1996

He just missed out on a gold medal with the Italian team in the Atlanta Olympic Games. Zorzi’s time on the Italian team ended with an Olympic silver medal. He was a leading member of the group known as the ‘generation of phenomena’. Overall, he played 325 matches for the national side from 1986, winning all the major international tournaments. He bid farewell to the volleyball court in 1998. He won the Fair Play Menarini International Award in 2010.

2024

In October he became part of the International Volleyball Hall of Fame (IVHF). The same year, in November, he participated in the talk show “Fair Play Menarini – The Champions Tell their Stories”.
