He made his debut in the main series with A.M.G. Sebastiani Rieti, at the age of 16. He played with the Rieti team for seven seasons, winning a Korać Cup.
The first call to the national team arrived. The following year, at the 1980 Moscow Games, he won an Olympic silver medal. He would remain a pillar of the Italian team until 1991, winning a gold, a silver and a bronze medal at the European Championships, for a total of 254 matches played.
He arrived at Virtus Bologna, where he would become one of the symbolic players. In 14 years he would help the Emilian team to obtain four scudetti, three Italian Cups, a Super Cup and a Cup Winners’ Cup. To date he is the second player with the most appearances in official matches (645) in the history of Virtus, as well as the second for points scored (7.504).
After leaving basketball, he began coaching Virtus, winning the Italian Cup. The same year he was among the winners of the first edition of the Fair Play Menarini International Award. Today, as Team Director, he manages the women’s sector of the Italian Basketball Federation.
