JOURNALISM
At the age of 19 Guido began writing about sports for Il Giornale and Ansa.
He joined the sports editorial team of the Fininvest Group. As a correspondent he reported on the Skiing World Cup and the Winter Olympics during the years of Alberto Tomba’s triumphs. He later focused on cycling, covering the Giro d’Italia for the Mediaset channels.
Guido was entrusted with commentary of the MotoGP races on Italia 1. This was the beginning of a historic partnership that saw him become ‘the voice of MotoGP’ for millions of Italians. With his passionate narrative style and innate ability to captivate audiences he commented the epic story of Valentino Rossi, coining unforgettable catchphrases such as “Rossi c’è!” and “tutti in piedi sul divano!”
Guido moved to Sky, where he returned to being MotoGP commentator, as well as deputy director of Sky Sport and director of the Motorsport editorial team. The following year he joined the team of hosts on the TopGear Italia show.
